Apple announced its entry into the metaverse with the launch of its augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR) headset called Vision Pro.
The headset is expected to challenge the dominance of Meta’s Oculus in the metaverse but at over six times the price of the latter.
The mixed reality headset, Vision Pro is the first product Apple users have to “look through, not at” according to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. He announced at the Apple unveiling event on Monday.

Vision Pro will start at $3,499 and will be available on the market early next year. In comparison, Oculus Quest 3, the latest and most upgraded headset from Meta retails at $500.
